The City of Palm Springs currently has six permitted medical cannabis collectives and cooperatives. The City contracted with an independent medical cannabis testing laboratory, which performed random sampling and testing of various products at only four collectives that were actively open for business.  The testing information is provided below for medical cannabis user information.

Medical cannabis testing provides consumers with important information about the quality of their medicine.  The City does not contract for pass/fail testing, nor does the City employ research scientists and chemists that could research and opine on potency, microbiological, pesticides and solvents.  While there are differences in opinion about what cannabis-testing standards should look like, the City recommends medical cannabis consumers perform their own research as to what is the appropriate potency level, the types of microbiological factors, along with any pesticide and solvents that may be present.

Please note, due to the lack of both Federal and California industry-wide testing standards and oversight of testing laboratories, collectives may have performed other laboratory testing of their medical cannabis which may provide different results.  Without set standards for the industry as a whole, testing laboratories use different procedures, equipment and methodologies.

Additionally, the testing results provided are only germane for the menu items available on the specific testing date.  The collective may have pulled the specific product or depleted inventory and a different strain is now shelved.  As such, the latest test date will provide more current information on a specific menu item.

Do not put yourself or others at risk!  Only become members and conduct transactions with permitted medical cannabis collectives.  The six legally-permitted collectives are as follows:

The City Council recently adopted Ordinance 1933, updating Chapter 5.45 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code (PSMC) regarding "Medical Cannabis Related Businesses and Activities," and adding PSMC Chapter 5.55 regarding "Adult-Use Cannabis Related Businesses and Activities."  The Ordinance provides a mechanism for the City, in compliance with the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act" signed by the Governor on June 27, 2017, to permit and regulate (i) medical cannabis business activities beyond the City's existing six (6) permitted/licensed collectives/cooperatives, and (ii) adult-use cannabis business activities.  No permits will be issued under Chapters 5.45 or 5.55 unless and until the City's qualified voters approve Measure E, the proposed "Ordinance of the City of Palm Springs Imposing a Tax on Cannabis Business Activity."  However, the City is currently accepting applications for permits under the new Ordinance.  Below are links to the City's new cannabis Ordinance and to the City's application for a cannabis permit.
