REPORT OF POSTING OF AGENDA:  Agenda available for public access at the City Hall exterior bulletin board (west side of Council Chamber) and the Planning Services counter by 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2017. 

ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA:  The Planning Commission will discuss the order of the agenda, may amend the order, note abstentions and request Consent Calendar items be removed from the consent calendar for discussion.  

PUBLIC COMMENTS:  Pursuant to the Brown Act public comment is limited to Item 1A.  Three (3) minutes is allowed for each speaker.  

1. JOINT MEETING WITH THE ARCHITECTURAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

1A. CITY OF PALM SPRINGS REQUESTING APPROVAL OF A MAJOR ARCHITECTURAL APPLICATION FOR A 2,820 SQUARE-FOOT ADDITION AND RENOVATIONS TO FIRE STATION #4 LOCATED AT 1300 LA VERNE WAY, ZONE CU (CASE 3.4012 MAJ).  (GM)

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Architectural Advisory Committee (AAC) recommend approval to the Planning Commission, subject to conditions as may be appropriate.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Planning Commission approve the application, subject to conditions and any recommendations of the AAC.

The Architectural Advisory Committee will adjourn to Monday, March 6, 2017, Council Chamber, City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs.  

The Planning Commission will continue with the remainder of the meeting.

REGULAR MEETING

PUBLIC COMMENTS:   This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Planning Commission on Consent Calendar and other agenda items; and items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission.  Please note that the Planning Commission is prohibited from taking action on items not listed on the posted agenda.  Three (3) minutes is allowed for each speaker.  Testimony for Public Hearings maybe offered at this time or at the time of the hearing.

The following routine matters may be acted upon by one motion.  Individual items may be removed by the Commission for separate discussion at this time.

RECOMMENDATION:  Approve.

3. PUBLIC HEARING:

3A. CITY OF PALM SPRINGS FOR A ZONE TEXT AMENDMENT RELATING TO THE CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES FOR THE REVIEW OF EXTENSION OF TIME APPLICATIONS (CASE 5.1405 ZTA).  (FF)  (CONTINUED FROM THE FEBRUARY 8, 2017 MEETING.)
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve.

general comments and/or other issues of concern from members of the Planning Commission.

PLANNING DIRECTOR’S REPORT:  Update the Planning Commission on important items.

ADJOURNMENT:  The Planning Commission will adjourn to 1:30 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2017, City Hall, Council Chamber, 3200 East Tahquitz Canyon Way.
