REPORT OF THE POSTING OF AGENDA:  The agenda for this meeting was posted for public review at the City Hall bulletin board (west side of Council Chamber) and the Planning Department counter in accordance with applicable law. 

 

ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA:  The Historic Site Preservation Board will discuss the order of the agenda, may amend the order, note abstentions and request Consent Calendar items be removed from the consent calendar for discussion.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:   This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Historic Site Preservation Board on agenda items and items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board.  Although the Historic Site Preservation Board values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda.  There will be three (3) minutes assigned for each speaker.  Testimony for Public Hearings will be taken at the time of the hearing.

            1.A.     APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:

             RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Historic Site Preservation Board Minutes of February 9, 2016. 

 

2.        PUBLIC HEARINGS:

           2.A.     AN APPLICATION BY THE PALM SPRINGS PRESERVATION  
           FOUNDA
TION (PSPF) ON BEHALF OF PEAK HOSPITALITY, INC., OWNER, FOR
           CLASS 1 
HISTORIC SITE DESIGNATION OF “THE VILLA ROYALE HOTEL”,
           LOCATED AT 
1620 SOUTH INDIAN TRAIL; (APN’S 508-362-007, 508-362-008, 508
           362-009, AND
508-362-010),  ZONE R-2  (HSPB #101).  (KL)

           RECOMMENDATION: 

           1.  Open the public hearing and take testimony.
           
2.  Close the public hearing and direct staff accordingly.

3.        UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

           3.A.     A CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL REQUEST BY THE RACQUET CLUB
           GARDEN VILLAS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION FOR REPLACEMENT / RELOCA-

           RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the proposed pool barrier fence as submitted.

 

4.         NEW BUSINESS:

            4.A.     CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL REQUEST BY VICTORIA CRANDALL, OWNER,
            FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A PROPOSED FIVE FOOT HIGH MASONRY PATIO
            ENCLOSURE AT UNIT 229, A CONTRIBUTING STRUCTURE WITHIN THE RACQUET
            CLUB COTTAGES WEST HISTORIC DISTRICT LOCATED AT 360 WEST CABRILLO
            ROAD (HSPB 88 / HD-3). (KL)

            RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the construction of the wall as proposed.

 

            4.B.     AN APPLICATION BY THE PARK IMPERIAL SOUTH HOMEOWNERS
            ASSOCIATION FOR HISTORIC DISTRICT DESIGNATION OF THE PARK IMPERIAL
            CONDOMINIUMS LOCATED AT SOUTH ARABY DRIVE AND BRIDLE TRAIL DRIVE, 
           
ZONE R-3 (HSPB #103 / HD-7).  (KL)

            RECOMMENDATION: 
           
1.  Receive the historic resources report dated February, 2016.
            
2.  Direct staff to schedule site visits for board members and schedule a public hearing of
                 the HSPB to consider the application.
