Ruth Lindemann: A Childhood Holocaust Survivor

Join us on Tuesday, March 12th for Ruth Lindemann: A Childhood Holocaust Survivor. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1933, Ruth’s immediate family escaped the Nazi regime by coming to the United States. Hear her first-hand account as a refugee, the impact to her life and how her experiences led her to become an author later in life. The lecture will be from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Cornelia White Community Room at the Welwood Murray Memorial Library (WMML) located at 100 S. Palm Canyon Dr. in downtown Palm Springs. Ruth Lindemann was born in 1933 in Vienna, Austria. After escaping the Nazis she arrived in the United States in 1940 and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. She graduated from Portland State University and raised a family. She also became Hadassah President in Portland, Oregon. Later in life, Ruth had a career as a tax consultant. Writing fiction and nonfiction have been a life-long hobby.

Since 1982, Ruth has been a lecturer on the Speaker’s Bureau for the Holocaust Museum in Portland, Oregon and recently at the Tolerance Education Center in Rancho Mirage, California.

She has written two historical fiction books To Survive is Not Enough and They Will Not Be Forgotten based on the culmination of hundreds of stories told to Ruth over the last fifty years.
