The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: Evaluation of Genealogical Sources
Notice: The Palm Springs Genealogical Society is now meeting in person in The Learning Center at the Palm Springs Public Library at 10am.
This event is presented by the Palm Springs Genealogical Society with guest speaker Gary Fredericksen. This FREE program will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in The Learning Center.
Everyone needs to evaluate genealogical sources. Using theory, practice, and a case study we will illustrate how to do this.
Gary Fredericksen was the President of the Sun City Palm Desert Genealogy Club for over 10 years and was the newsletter editor for the Palm Springs Genealogical Society. He has been a frequent presenter at Southern California genealogy societies. He is also a genealogy teacher for both beginning and advanced genealogy in the Learning in Retirement Program in Palm Desert. He retired in 2005 as Vice President for Student Affairs at Cal Poly Pomona after 35 years in the California State University System.
Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are instruments designed to amplify sounds to make it easier for persons who are hearing‑impaired to enjoy a library program.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Palm Springs, should contact the ADA Coordinator, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
