Jose Sarria Lecture with Gene Brake
Gene Brake, Founder of the Jose Sarria Foundation, will share about the life of Jose Sarria and the exhibit on display at the downtown Welwood Murray Memorial Library from October 11 – December 15, 2022
A legend of the San Francisco drag scene. Out and Latino, Sarria dedicated his life to fight for queer rights and even ran as the country’s first known openly gay candidate for public office. He founded an international drag charity that continues his legacy with legendary drag galas to this day!
