REPORT OF THE POSTING OF AGENDA: The agenda for this meeting was posted for public review at the City Hall bulletin board (west side of Council Chamber) and the Planning Department counter by 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, as required by established policies and procedures.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA: The Historic Site Preservation Board will discuss the order of the agenda, may amend the order, note abstentions and request Consent Calendar items be removed from the consent calendar for discussion.
PUBLIC COMMENT: This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Historic Site Preservation Board on agenda items and items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board. Although the Historic Site Preservation Board values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. There will be three (3) minutes assigned for each speaker. Testimony for Public Hearings will be taken at the time of the hearing.
1. CONSENT CALENDAR:
1.A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: NOVEMBER 1, 2022 HSPB MEETING.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Historic Site Preservation Board Minutes of November 1, 2022.
2. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
2.A. AN APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS FOR HISTORIC DESIGNATION OF “THE SECURITY FIRST NATIONAL BANK” LOCATED AT 500 SOUTH INDIAN CANYON DRIVE, HSPB #137, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS (APN #508-121-001). (SY/KL)
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Open the public hearing and take testimony.
2. Close the public hearing and adopt Resolution HSPB #137 “A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC SITE PRESERVATION BOARD OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL DESIGNATE “THE SECURITY FIRST NATIONAL BANK” AS A CLASS 1 (LANDMARK) HISTORIC SITE HSPB #137, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS (APN 508-121-001), AND A DETERMINATION PURSUANT TO CEQA THAT THIS ACTION IS NOT A PROJECT.”

4. NEW BUSINESS:
4.A. 448 HERMOSA PLACE LLC, REQUESTING APPROVAL FOR MAJOR ALTERATIONS TO A CLASS 3 SITE LOCATED AT 448 WEST HERMOSA PLACE, (CASE 3.4356). (SY/KL)
RECOMMENDATION: Take no action, allow the processing of a building permit, and determine
pursuant to CEQA that this action is not a project.
