Lecture: Guide Dogs of the Desert

Guide Dogs of the Desert

presented by Lisa Morand

Guide Dogs of the Desert (GDD) has been in the desert for over 50 years.  You will learn about the amazing work done to breed, raise and train Guide Dogs to help the visually impaired regain confidence, independence, and mobility.  Services are provided to the visually impaired at no cost and there are many opportunities for Volunteering and Volunteer Puppy Raising.  Hear how you can help and become part of the GDD community and the amazing work that GDD does.

Since 1972, GDD has been making a difference in blind and visually impaired individuals' lives. Lisa Morand is the Volunteer Coordinator at Guide Dogs of the Desert.

Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are instruments designed to amplify sounds to make it easier for persons who are hearing‑impaired to enjoy a library program.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Palm Springs, should contact the ADA Coordinator, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
