An Introduction and Review of Genealogical Websites
This event is presented by the Palm Springs Genealogical Society with guest speaker Gary Fredericksen . This FREE program will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in The Learning Center.
Gary will introduce several software programs, highlighting the pluses and minuses of each program.
Gary Fredericksen is a retired university administrator from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He just retired as President of the Sun City Palm Desert Genealogy Club and has been the Newsletter Editor for the Palm Springs Genealogical Society. He has over 20 years’ experience researching families, learning the “ins and outs” of various genealogy software programs, and helping others get started in genealogical research. He also teaches a variety of classes, including “Researching Places”, “Source Citations Made Easy”, “Using Find-A-Grave” and others. He teaches beginning and intermediate Genealogy both in clubs and libraries.
Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are instruments designed to amplify sounds to make it easier for persons who are hearing‑impaired to enjoy a library program.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Palm Springs, should contact the ADA Coordinator, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
