Born in France and after a successful career in marketing for Peugeot and the French Line, Jacques Caussin left the corporate world behind and founded First ½, a gallery in Soho, New York. There, he gained national recognition as a specialist in 1930s American industrial design. His expertise was further acknowledged through curated exhibitions, and many of his notable pieces now reside in prestigious institutions such as the Detroit Institute of Art and the Metropolitan in New York.

In 1994, Caussin showcased his talent as a show producer by creating the highly successful Miami Modernism Show, contributing to the revitalization of South Beach. In 2001, he joined forces with Dolphin Promotions to launch the Palm Springs Modernism Show, which has since grown into a nationally acclaimed event, attracting collectors and enthusiasts of midcentury modern design annually.

Capitalizing on the success of the Modernism Show, in 2006, Caussin, alongside like-minded individuals in Palm Springs, initiated Modernism Week, an international 11-day festival celebrating modernism in all its forms. Serving as Board Chairman of Modernism Week for five of the first seven years, Caussin played a pivotal role in its transformation into an international cultural phenomenon.

Despite his numerous accomplishments, Jacques Caussin remains an active advocate for 20th Century design, sharing his knowledge through lectures and presentations on various related topics.
