Welcome to the Building & Safety Department at the City of Palm Springs. We provide building permit and plan check services for residential and commercial construction and are responsible for compliance with the building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical codes, in addition to certain municipal codes adopted by the City Council. We also ensure compliance with the California State accessibility regulations and energy conservation requirements.


Building Codes

As of February 12, 2023, the City of Palm Springs is requiring all new plan review and permit applications to comply with the 2022 California Building Standards Codes and adopted City of Palm Springs Municipal Code.
