Welcome to the City of Palm Traffic Management Center (TMC) Homepage.

The CPS / TMC staff works hard to ensure that they meet the goal of making your trip in and around Palm Springs city as safe and efficient as possible. They take the ease of your mobility seriously. They promote traffic safety through education as well as by maintaining the City's Traffic Management System. TMC staff works closely with the Palm Spring Police Department's Traffic Bureau by using traffic collision and citation data to enhance traffic design, enforcement and education.

On this site you can report maintenance issues related to traffic signals, request the installation of new signs, striping or curb paint, apply for traffic related permits and view traffic data. We are currently working on updating our Traffic Management Center so we can bring real-time state of the art traffic related information to the motoring public.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITES

The Traffic Management Center is responsible for overseeing all aspects of traffic engineering, design and operations including;

  • Traffic Calming

The TMC employs a citywide communication system to monitor and modify traffic signal operations. Real time traffic signal data is displayed in the TMC so that engineers are informed minute by minute on signal events and conditions.

CITIZEN INPUT AND REQUESTS

We believe that citizen input is essential to maintaining mobility and safety. We take your needs and requests seriously. If you have a comment or concern regarding a traffic device please forward it to us in writing by using our Online Incident Request Form. We’ll be sure to schedule the investigations as promptly as possible and respond to you with our findings.

COMMUNITY LIVABILITY THROUGH TRAFFIC CALMING

 The City of Palm Springs has a Traffic Calming Program that authorizes City Staff to work closely with neighborhoods to implement various devices to slow down and/or deter cut through traffic and reduce traffic speeds on qualifying streets within the City. Visit the Traffic Calming page to read more about our Traffic Calming Program.
