With over 35 million members, AARP is the leading nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people age 50 and over in the United States. The group is known for providing a host of services to this ever-growing segment of the population by informing members and the public on issues important to this age group. 

BenefitsCheckUp
BenefitsCheckUp is the nation's most comprehensive online service to screen for federal, state and some local private and public benefits for older adults (ages 55 and over). It contains over 1,350 different programs from all fifty states (including the District of Columbia). On average there are 50 to 70 programs available to individuals per state.

California Department of Aging
The California Department of Aging serves as both a unifying force for services to seniors and adults with disabilities and as a focal point for federal, state and local agencies which serve the elderly and adults with disabilities in California.  It fulfills the goals outlined in the Older Americans Act and also acts as an advocate for seniors and adults with disabilities by striving to develop an environment which respects and values the state's older residents and adults with disabilities.

Library Services for People with Print Disabilities from the California State Library
Library Services for People with Print Disabilities allows California’s blind, low-vision and otherwise print-disabled individuals—and the organizations and institutions who serve them—to select a county of residence and be directed to the appropriate National Library Service for the Bind and Physically Handicapped Network Regional or Subregional library serving their geographical area.  These libraries provide Braille and audio books and magazines, audio playback equipment and descriptive videos at no charge to blind, visually impaired or otherwise print-disabled individuals—such as people with dyslexia and other organic reading disabilities or those physically unable to read conventional print. This service is provided free by California’s Library Services for People with Print Disabilities, in association with the Library of Congress.

Medicare.gov: Nursing Home Compare
Nursing Home Compare allows consumers to compare information about nursing homes. It contains quality of care information on every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the country, including over 15,000 nationwide.

Nursing homes aren't included on Nursing Home Compare if they aren't certified to participate in Medicare or Medicaid. These Nursing Homes can be licensed by the state. For information about nursing homes not on this website, use the Cal Health Find Database.

Medicare Rights Center (MRC) is the largest independent source of health care information and assistance in the United States for people with Medicare. Founded in 1989, MRC helps older adults and people with disabilities get good, affordable health care.

National Council on Aging
A national, nonprofit group of people and organizations dedicated to promoting the dignity, independence, well-being, and contributions of older people. NCOA believes that benefits are important and useful tools to help seniors be independent and healthy. NCOA is proud to work with national sponsors and government agencies to make services free to anyone who wants to see if they may be eligible for public programs and services. 

Nursing Home Abuse
The Nursing Home Abuse Center is an informational website committed to providing comprehensive information on nursing home abuse and neglect for the elderly and their loved ones. Also includes information on how to find the right nursing home, and financing nursing home care.
