The New Downtown Park is Now Open!
The Downtown Park officially opened to the public on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 with a ribbon-cutting and free concert in the park, brought to residents by the City of Palm Springs and our Measure J tax dollars. The goal of the park is to help connect residents and visitors to a natural urban oasis in the heart of our downtown while at the same time highlighting Palm Springs’ unique culture and magical beauty. The City Council expects the park to become a central arts and culture hub for residents and visitors alike to use and enjoy in the heart of downtown.
The park features two grassy lawns, palm groves, a water feature inspired by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians' famed Tahquitz Canyon waterfall, public restrooms and a new downtown police substation. Public restrooms are available are available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
