The Palm Springs Police Department's Media Relations Office is committed to ensuring the media and public stay informed about Department related events affecting the City of Palm Springs, its residents, and visitors. Our Public Information Officers (PIOs) are vital in delivering timely public safety updates and information about Palm Springs.
Established in the late 1970s, the Media Relations Office bridges the Palm Springs Police Department with the media and the public. Our goal is to facilitate the open exchange of information, balancing the public's right to know with the necessity of safeguarding the integrity of legal proceedings and the rights of individuals involved.
Understanding the significant influence media portrayal can have on public perception, especially for those with limited direct interactions with law enforcement, PSPD places a high priority on fostering positive media relationships. Through transparent communication and diligent information sharing, we aim to contribute positively to the community's view of our Department and law enforcement in general.
PSPD is dedicated to keeping the community and media well-informed about the Department's activities and involvements. We pledge to work collaboratively, making every effort to provide the information the public and media need within the constraints of legal and departmental policies.
