Turf Conversion
As part of the region’s water conservation efforts, the Desert Water Agency (DWA) offers a Turf Conversion Rebate Program offering a $3 per square foot turf removal rebate. This year the City of Palm Springs is contributing $1 per square foot to the program. Approved participants will then receive a combined rebate of $4 per square foot with no limit on the size of the project. ALL Commercial and HOA projects are required to submit a landscape alteration plan form to City of Palm Springs Planning Department before starting turf removal. For info on the application process, contact the Planning Department at (760) 323-8245 or planning@palmspringsca.gov

The City of Palm Springs recommends that anyone participating in turf removal projects consciously incorporate a variety of hardy plants into their landscape designs to meet water-efficient regulations and retain a green aesthetic within the design.
