Earth Day

On April 22, 1970, millions of Americans gathered in cities across America to demand a better environment. That first Earth Day would turn out to be one of the largest civic events ever and resulted in a modern environmental movement that has made a profound impact on our planet.

While there has been a lot of progress since 1970, we face new global challenges that continue threaten our planet and ourselves. Local and individual action is the key to turning things around.

In the spirit of Earth Day, we have created this page with announcements and links to action-oriented ideas for how you can help promote positive environmental progress.

Read the City's Earth Day Proclamation. The City renewed its Earth Day proclamation at the request of the Climate Reality Project Palm Springs Chapter.
