REPORT OF THE POSTING OF AGENDA: The agenda for this meeting was posted for public review at the City Hall bulletin board (west side of Council Chamber) and the Planning Department counter in accordance with applicable law.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA: The Historic Site Preservation Board will discuss the order of the agenda, may amend the order, note abstentions and request Consent Calendar items be removed from the consent calendar for discussion.
PUBLIC COMMENT: This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Historic Site Preservation Board on agenda items and items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board. Although the Historic Site Preservation Board values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. There will be three (3) minutes assigned for each speaker. Testimony for Public Hearings will be taken at the time of the hearing.

1.A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: APRIL 11, 2017 HSPB MEETING.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Historic Site Preservation Board Minutes of April 11, 2017.
2. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
2.A. CONSIDERATION OF CLASS 1 HISTORIC SITE DESIGNATION FOR “THE RACQUET CLUB” LOCATED AT 2743 NORTH INDIAN CANYON DRIVE (APN #504-040-038 & 504-133-001 and 002), ZONE PD 313, CASE HSPB #83. (KL)
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Open the public hearing and take testimony.
2. Close the public hearing and adopt Resolution HSPB #83: “A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC SITE PRESERVATION BOARD OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL DESIGNATE “THE RACQUET CLUB”, LOCATED AT 2743 NORTH INDIAN CANYON DRIVE (APN 504-040-038 & 504-133-001 and 504-133-002) AS CLASS 1 HISTORIC SITE #83”.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve as submitted.
4.B TKG MANAGEMENT, INC, OWNER, to demolish A 6,616-SQUARE FOOT COMMERCIAL BUILDING located at 1711 EAST PALM CANYON DRIVE; a Class 3 historic site (APN #510-020-001), Zone CSC; Case 3.4022 MAJ. (GM)
RECOMMENDATION: HSPB to take no action and allow the applicant to proceed with demolition of the commercial building.
4.C. AN APPLICATION BY WILLIAM F. STEWART, OWNER, FOR CLASS 1 HISTORIC SITE DESIGNATION OF “THE CARL HAYMOND RESIDENCE” LOCATED AT 1415 NORTH CAMINO CENTRO (HSPB #107).
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Receive the historic resources report dated April, 2017.
2. Direct staff to arrange site visits for the board members.
3. Direct staff to prepare a noticed public hearing of the HSPB to consider the application.
