Pursuant to Executive Order N-29-20, this meeting will be conducted by teleconference and there will be no in-person public access to the meeting location.

REPORT OF THE POSTING OF AGENDA: The agenda for this meeting was posted for public review at the City Hall bulletin board (west side of Council Chamber) and the Planning Department counter by 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in accordance with applicable law.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA: The Historic Site Preservation Board will discuss the order of the agenda, may amend the order, note abstentions and request Consent Calendar items be removed from the consent calendar for discussion.
PUBLIC COMMENT: This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Historic Site Preservation Board on agenda items and items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board. Although the Historic Site Preservation Board values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. There will be three (3) minutes assigned for each speaker. Testimony for Public Hearings will be taken at the time of the hearing.
1. CONSENT CALENDAR:
1.A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: JULY 7, 2020 HSPB MEETING.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Historic Site Preservation Board Minutes of July 7, 2020.
2. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
2.A. NICHOLAS PEPPER, OWNER, REQUESTING CLASS 1 HISTORIC SITE DESIGNATION OF THE FRANZ ALEXANDER RESIDENCE LOCATED AT 1011 WEST CIELO DRIVE (APN 504-201-024), CASE HSPB #132. (KL).
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Open the public hearing and take testimony.
2. Close the public hearing and adopt resolution #132, “A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC SITE PRESERVATION BOARD OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL DESIGNATE “THE FRANZ ALEXANDER RESIDENCE” LOCATED AT 1011 WEST CIELO DRIVE AS A CLASS 1 HISTORIC SITE.”
3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
3.A. CONSIDERATION OF AN UPDATED HISTORIC RESOURCES REPORT ON THE PALM SPRINGS RACQUET CLUB LOCATED AT 2743 NORTH INDIAN CANYON DRIVE, (CASE HSPB #83), (KL).
RECOMMENDATION: Direct staff to schedule a public hearing of the HSPB to consider possible recommendation for designation of the Palm Springs Racquet Club as a historic resource.
4. NEW BUSINESS:
4.A. JEREMY SCOTT, OWNER, REQUESTING CLASS 1 HISTORIC SITE DESIGNATION OF THE ARTHUR ELROD RESIDENCE LOCATED AT 2175 SOUTHRIDGE DRIVE, (CASE HSPB #64). (KL).
RECOMMENDATION: Direct staff to schedule a public hearing of the HSPB to consider possible recommendation for designation of the Elrod residence as a historic resource.
4.B. MIKE MILLER, OWNER, REQUESTING APPROVAL TO DEMOLISH THE EXISTING DWELLING LOCATED AT 1175 CAMINO MIRASOL, A CLASS 4 SITE, (CASE 3.4180
MAA), (KL).
RECOMMENDATION: Take no action and direct staff to process the demolition permit.
4.C. THE ALUMINAIRE HOUSE FOUNDATION ON BEHALF OF THE PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM REQUESTING APPROVAL FOR ALTERATIONS TO THE PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM LOCATED AT 101 MUSEUM DRIVE (CASE HSPB #35). (KL).
RECOMMENDATION: Grant the certificate of appropriateness with conditions.
