Commercial Security Camera System Grant Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The City of Palm Springs has established a Commercial Security Camera System Grant Program designed to assist businesses with purchase and installation of security cameras at commercial properties within the City of Palm Springs.

The Commercial Security System Grant Program features a grant of $500 per business. Grant will be paid as a reimbursement to business/property owners based on actual costs for purchase and installation of security cameras.

There are no fees associated with this grant unless permits are required. Grants will be issued on a first come first served basis upon receipt and approval of Application. Applications will be accepted as long as funding is available up to $20,000 (est. 40 applicants).

The Grant Application package includes Program Guidelines (pages 2 & 3), the Grant Application Form (pages 4 & 5) and the City Reimbursement Agreement Form (pages 6-8).

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications may also be picked up at City Hall Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Submit your application along with a description of location and number of cameras and a sketch or image of location of cameras. Use any of the options below:

Applicant will receive notification of approval. After receiving approval of the grant application, purchase and install a security camera system of applicant’s choice at the property.
Register the Security Camera System with the Palm Springs Police Department at www.palmspringsca.gov/PSPDSecurityCameraRegistry .
Security Camera System must remain in place for three (3) years unless replaced by an upgraded system at the sole expense of the business/property owner and upgraded system must be re-registered with the Palm Springs Police Department.
Applicant will complete an agreement with the City of Palm Springs to be reimbursed up to $500 towards purchase and installation of security camera system and submit the following:
- copy of valid Palm Springs Business License (Applicant);
- copy of valid Palm Springs Business License (Contractor hired to perform work);
- completed W-9;
- proof of payment for purchase and installation of Security Camera System (i.e. credit card receipts with statements and/or copies of both front and back of cancelled checks, and copies of paid invoice(s);
- evidence of authorization of signatory to execute legal documents on behalf of the business (i.e. most recent tax return, Articles of Incorporation or Statement of Information) and
- proof that all required City of Palm Springs permits, if any, have been attained. Contact the City’s Permit Center to determine if any permits are required.
The business/property must be free of building code violations or tax liens.
