    • Airport Navigator - Airport Navigators provide visitors arriving through the Palm Springs International Airport with general assistance and information about the airport and the City.

  • Animal Shelter -- Click here for more information
    • Officer Helper - Answer phones, help with the intake of some animals, possibly some dispatching of calls and light filing/clerical work. 
    • Special Events Worker - Help us provide educational information to the community at various functions such as VillageFest and the Palm Springs Neighborhood Involvement Committee's Annual Picnic & Expo. Also help us at our microchip and rabies vaccination clinics. 
    • Animal Aide - Become a dog walker and help out with our fantastic felines as well as assisting us with adoptions as these shelter animals find their forever homes.

    • Materials Assistance Helper - Apply labels, scan documents, sort and assist in preparing books to be shelved and general clerical duties as assigned.
    • Materials Organization & Display Helper - Prepare carts for shelving. Read shelves and make sure all materials are in order in appropriate locations.
    • Youth Room/Programming Helper - Assist the Youth Room staff in preparing for and conducting programs and story times. Assist children (and parents) in locating materials, using the online catalog and answering general questions.

    • CERT Program - The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) promotes a partnering effort between emergency services of the Palm Springs Fire Department and the people that they serve.  The goal is for emergency personnel to train members of neighborhoods, community organizations, or workplaces in basic response skills.  CERT members are then integrated into the emergency response capability for their area.  CERT members can assist others in times of emergency or disaster by applying the basic response and organizational skills that they have learned during training.  These skills can help save and sustain lives following a disaster until help arrives.

    • Aero Squadron -   The Aero Squadron is a volunteer auxiliary unit of the Palm Springs Police Department.  It is comprised of pilots and observers whose expertise range from ex-airline pilots, commercial and instrument rated to private pilots to assist in observing activities in the canyons or to assist the Police Department in tracking vehicles or people. 
    • Citizens on Patrol - These dedicated people take their place beside regular officers, assisting them in non-confrontational activities including safe patrol activities. 
    • Explorers - Explorers is an educational opportunity to receive training in many areas of Law Enforcement including: patrol duties, investigation, traffic control, evidence collection, radio operation, report writing, arrest and control techniques, jail operations, fingerprinting, and more.
    • Reserve Officers - Reserve officers are men and women from all walks of life who donate thousands of hours to the community each year, while serving as working police officers. 
    • Search and Rescue - The unquenchable thirst for adventure and desire to explore new and sometimes dangerous terrain periodically may lead to trouble.  When this occurs in the greater Palm Springs area, the organization known as The Palm Springs Mounted Search and Rescue is available to assist in search and rescue efforts.
