City-Managed EV Chargers
Residents and visitors have three options for charging at City-managed EV charging stations in our public lots. They are:
- Chargepoint Fast (DC/Level 3) and Medium (Level 2) Chargers: These chargers are located on the first floor of the parking garage at the Art Museum downtown and in the parking lot at City Hall closest to the Dog Park. Activate and pay for the stations using the Chargepoint app. Please report any issues with the stations to Chargepoint and to Carbon Solutions Group by calling 1-888-237-7732.
- DirtRoad Medium (Level 2) Chargers: These chargers are available in one of our public parking lots downtown off Belardo Road and in the Convention Center parking lot. Activate and pay for the stations using the DirtRoad app. Please report any issues with the stations to Carbon Solutions Group by calling 1-888-237-7732.
- Apple: DirtRoad on the App Store (apple.com)
- Android: DirtRoad - Apps on Google Play
- Clipper Creek Slow Chargers: These chargers are available in many City parking areas including the Library, the Baristo Downtown Garage, and the James O. Jessie Center. No app or payment is required to use these chargers. Please report any issues with these chargers by calling the EV Hotline on the charger's label.
For any concerns with these stations, please report them to the listed numbers. You can also email our office at recycling@palmspringsca.gov.
Stuck on a Charger?
The most common reason that one of our chargers goes out of service is due to broken charger clips. Please connect and disconnect carefully from the equipment so others can use it! If you're having trouble stopping your session or disconnecting, you can try pressing your "unlock" button on your keychain twice or three times in quick succession.
Most cars have an automatic disconnect trigger that responds either to double-pressing the unlock button, locking or unlocking three times, or another quick trick that you can find by searching your car's make and model online!
Other Chargers in City Lots
You will also find chargers from other charging brands in some of our City lots - for example, ZEV Station is available in the Art Museum's surface parking lot, and EVGo is available at the Visitors Center. These stations are not managed by the City. Please reach out to the providers with any questions or concerns.
