  REPORT OF THE POSTING OF AGENDA:  The agenda for this meeting was posted for public review at the City Hall bulletin board (west side of Council Chamber) and the Planning Department counter by 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, as required by City policy.

  ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA:  The Historic Site Preservation Board will discuss the order of the agenda, may amend the order, note abstentions and request Consent Calendar items be removed from the consent calendar for discussion. 

  PUBLIC COMMENT:   This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Historic Site Preservation Board on agenda items and items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board.  Although the Historic Site Preservation Board values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda.  There will be three (3) minutes assigned for each speaker.  Testimony for Public Hearings will be taken at the time of the hearing.

  1.A.  APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:    MAY 4, 2022

  RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the Historic Site Preservation Board Minutes of May 4, 2022.

  2.      PUBLIC HEARINGS: 

  2.A.  AN APPLICATION BY THE VILLA ROMA HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, FOR HISTORIC DISTRICT DESIGNATION OF “THE VILLA ROMA GARDEN HOMES” LOCATED AT 2500 SOUTH SIERRA MADRE, (MASTER APN #512-120-070), CASE HSPB #140  (KL).

  RECOMMENDATION: 

   Open the public hearing and receive public testimony.

  1. Close the public hearing and adopt Resolution HSPB #140, “A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC SITE PRESERVATION BOARD OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED DISTRICT DOES NOT MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY FOR HISTORIC DESIGNATION.”

  4.A. THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS SEEKING A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS TO ALLOW REMOVAL OF THE STONE ARCH AT THE ORCHID TREE INN, (CLASS 1 AND CLASS 2), LOCATED AT 261 SOUTH BELARDO ROAD; HSPB 72; CASE 3.0678. (KL)

  RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the Certificate as conditioned.
